About Jacklyn and Rex

Our journey to Maine began 8 years ago when Rex and I drove 1700 miles with our two dogs in the back of our Kia soul. We found a quaint small harbor town and fell in love with it. We returned home and began our plan to make a move. It took six years and a change in plans to finally make our home in this beautiful state. After a year and a half of putting Rex’s skills to work, with my help of course, we turned a neglected cabin into our little sanctuary. Now we have the space and time to do what we love, create art in all kinds of forms.

Jacklyn

I have always known that i wanted to be an artist. My first “exhibition” was a portrait of Liza Minnelli in the local mall when I was 10 years old. I love to paint faces but now I also enjoy painting birds and all the other beautiful creatures we see living here in Maine. I love trying different mediums, oils, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, sculpting, digital and some jewelry making. The ability of Rex and I to do our own creations from the idea stage to packaging is possible because of our collaboration. We are 2 Artists in Maine.

Rex

For over forty years I ran my own business making high-end furniture, kitchens and the occasional remodels of homes in South Florida. As a hobby and distraction from work I enjoyed created art using different mediums. Some of my favorites are painting, drawing, photography, jewelry making and sculpting in clay and wood. Creating art after a hard days work can be challenging to say the least because there never seemed to be enough energy or time, but now we have started a new life here in Maine my primary goal is to make the things that I enjoy. The art that I create now is for me with the hope that someone will get enjoyment from the things I create. A lot of the art Jacklyn and I make now is inspired by the beautiful environment that is Maine.
